Are You Ready for Winter Storms?

Be prepared for power outages that can occur during winter storms. Cordless phones have become the favorite for home use as we all enjoy the freedom these types of phones provide. However, it is important to consider that cordless phones require electricity to operate. Haviland Telephone recommends that all of our customers have at least one inexpensive phone with a cord that plugs into a wall jack. Haviland’s network is self-powered, so service stays on even during a power failure.

Cordless phones won’t work when the lights are out and a cell phone may require charging. During the winter months, Haviland Telephone will be giving away Blackout survival kits and corded phones to help you stay connected.

Email to enter, or mail in the entry form provided in the print newsletter.  If emailing, subject line needs to be: Blackout giveaway. Please include your name, address, town and home phone number in the email. We will give away one kit and several corded phones in January, February and March.

You may enter the contest once per month, however, you will need to send in separate entry forms or emails for each month.  All entries received on or before January 16 will be eligible for the January drawing. All entries received between January 17 and February 17 will be eligible for the February drawing. All entries received between February 18 and March 19 will be eligible for the March drawing.
